State Police are investigating an officer involved shooting in which they say a Baton Rouge cop shot and killed a man. Michelle Southern reports…:

A Grambling State student that was arrested last month after a double homicide has been indicted on two counts for first degree murder.  19-year-old Jaylin Wayne allegedly fatally shot 23-year-old Earl Andrews, a senior at Grambling, and 23-year-old Monquairious Caldwell.  The Lincoln Parish DA says they may seek the death penalty pending the final police report.

U.S. Senator John Kennedy has written an opinion piece in the Washington Examiner entitled “Please stop having children you aren’t willing to raise.”  Kennedy says we launch public awareness campaigns to encourage people to recycle their soft drink cans, stop smoking and wear seat belts. He says maybe we need to launch campaigns to encourage people to raise their children…

The LaFourche Parish Council will issue a proclamation marking the 130th anniversary of the Thibodaux Massacre.  White mobs shot black men and women after a strike was called by sugar cane workers in Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes.
