Governor John Bel Edwards announced today two-thousand new jobs are coming when DXC Technology opens a digital transformation center in January of 2018 in New Orleans. Louisiana will invest $25 million in higher education grants through the LSU, UL, and Technical and Community College Systems to ensure qualified workers can fill these new positions. Edwards says this project is one of the most significant economic development announcements in Louisiana history.
Reports indicate a Louisiana man was arrested trying to cross into North Korea. The man was detained by South Korean forces before he could cross the Demilitarized Zone that separates the two countries. The 58-year-old is identified as “A”. The Washington Post says he was trying to enter North Korea for “political purposes.”
