The Republican National Committee has announced that they are sending more than 200 people to Louisiana to aid Bill Cassidy in the US Senate runoff election. RNC Louisiana Communications Director Ben Voelkel (vocal) says they are going to focus on getting out the vote…:

This announcement comes just after the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee decided to pull television ads supporting incumbent Senator Mary Landrieu. Despite this, Executive Director of the Louisiana Democratic Party, Stephen Handwerk, feels Landrieu’s numbers will rebound going into the runoff…:

Baton Rouge PD says an active-military officer is under arrest after allegedly trying to run over her fiance while their one year old infant was in the car. Cpl. Don Coppola says 24-year-old Mictissa Moseley (mOHz-lee) was a passenger in the vehicle when she and her fiance, who was driving, got into a huge fight…:

Coppola says Moseley told cops she was trying to kill her fiance by running him over with the car but regrets crashing with the baby in the backseat. She is booked with attempted murder and cruelty to juveniles.

Louisiana State Police say a single vehicle accident in Prairieville has claimed the life of a Geismar man. Authorities say a car, driven by 27-year-old Cody Viator, went off the roadway, struck a culvert then went airborne and flipped. They say Viator, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
