Reactions are coming in the aftermath of the largest church mass shooting in Texas history this past weekend near San Antonio which killed 26. Seven years ago, former Shreveport area State Representative Henry Burns authored a bill which allows guns in places of worship, with church leadership approval. Burns says the law specifies that all in the congregation are aware if someone is carrying a weapon.

Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and 10 chefs are in New York City to promote Louisiana cuisine. Nungesser says during the three-day visit to the Big Apple the Louisiana chefs will be able to meet with writers, producers and editors who cover in food and travel.

The participating chefs are from Monroe, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, New Orleans and several places in between.

A 43-year-old Minden woman is dead after losing control of her truck on Interstate 20 early this morning. State Police say Tammy Lair was not wearing her seat belt when exited the roadway, overturned and was ejected from the vehicle.
