Governor John Bel Edwards is in Hurricane Maria ravaged Puerto Rico today to meet with leaders on the island and assist with recovery. The governor’s spokesperson Shauna Sanford says Edwards is with GOSEP heads and Louisiana National Guard officials to give Puerto Rico advice:

State Police say I-10 eastbound near Grosse Tete has reopened after a fatal crash involving four 18-wheelers. Trooper Bryan Lee says one of the big rigs didn’t stop for upcoming traffic and smashed into three other 18 wheelers. He says the traffic was heavy at that time, because a car went off the road…:

New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson is doing “very well” after being hospitalized overnight. Spokesman Greg Bensel said the 90-year-old was observed at Ochsner Hospital after experiencing brief weakness following the Saints 20-12 win over Chicago at the Superdome.

An investigative audit accuses three former cashiers at Grambling of improperly adding over 164-thousand-dollars to G-Flex accounts that were used by 35 students and two of the former cashiers.
