Governor John Bel Edwards is in Hurricane Maria ravaged Puerto Rico today to meet with leaders on the island and assist with recovery. The governor’s spokesperson Shauna Sanford says Edwards is with GOSEP heads and Louisiana National Guard officials to give Puerto Rico advice:

State Police say I-10 eastbound near Grosse Tete has reopened after a fatal crash involving four 18-wheelers. New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson is doing “very well” after being hospitalized overnight. Spokesman Greg Bensel said the 90-year-old was observed at Ochsner Hospital after experiencing brief weakness following the Saints 20-12 win over Chicago at the Superdome.
