Over a foot of rain fell in Point Coupee Parish as a front moved through south Louisiana, causing flooding resulting in home damage and road closures. Sheriff Bud Torres says one main bridge on Highway 413 has been shut down indefinitely..:

Flood damage is also reported in East Feliciana Parish where 20 boat rescues were conducted.

Celebrity chef John Besh is stepping down “from all aspects of operations” of his restaurant group. Besh suddenly became the focus of a sexual harassment scandal following a Times-Picayune exposé of allegations throughout the Besh Restaurant Group. While Besh denied the allegations of workplace harassment, he did acknowledge an affair with a female employee, and said he was trying to repair the damage that affair did to his family. Today’s news comes after Harrah’s New Orleans Casino cut ties with Besh following sexual harassment allegations in the Besh Restaurant Group.
