House Majority Whip Steve Scalise from Metairie is pushing Congress to approve federal tax reform legislation that he says will lead to lower taxes on individuals and businesses. Scalise says he’s heard from corporate leaders that the current tax structure is hurting job development in the United States….

President Donald Trump is promising massive tax cuts for the American people.

The US Coast Guard reports 672-thousand gallons of oil has been dumped into the Gulf of Mexico from a damaged pipeline about 40 miles south of Venice. That’s nearly twice as much as the original estimate last Friday. The Coast Guard says the oil is drifting away from the coast, but none of its recoverable at the surface, because of the depth of the leak and the high pressure at which the oil was released.

LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans Doctor Paul Harch says he’s seen positive impacts by using hyperbaric oxygen therapy on soldiers and military vets with mild traumatic brain injuies. Harch says the therapy in many cases has eliminated suicidal thoughts and greatly reduced PTSD symptoms. Harch says he’s also treated football players and presented his findings to the NFL….
