The Louisiana Poison Control Center is sending out a warning to parents about the dangers of laundry detergent pods which have harmed hundreds of children who mistake them for toys or candy. Director Mark Ryan says kids who ingest the concentrated detergent in these pods can very quickly have central nervous system depression and become lethargic:

Ryan says child exposure to cleaning products is one of the top reasons people call poison centers. He says one of the problems with these pods is that when they first came out they were in a clear container that looked almost like a candy jar…:

Ryan says if you think your child has ingested some of the contents of these detergent pods, you should call the poison control center right away at 1-800-222-1222. He says even if the symptoms seem mild you should call…:

Former Ragin’ Cajuns and Minnesota Vikings defensive back Orlando Thomas passed away last night at the age of 42. Thomas announced in 2007 that he was battling ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Former Cajuns teammate Jake Delhomme says Thomas’ determination as he fought ALS was the same that he brought to the field…

The Shreveport Police Department says a 25-year-old woman is under arrest on cruelty to juveniles after being accused of throwing her 17 month old across a room. Cpl Breck Scott says cops responded to scene after getting the call early this morning…:
