A 44-year-old Colfax man is dead after a two vehicle crash over the weekend in Grant Parish. Louisiana State Police say a pickup truck attempted to make a left hand turn when it collided with a motorcycle driven by Angel Muro. Muro, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup, 31-year-old Jason Daniels of Lafayette, was charged with failure to yield. The investigation is ongoing.

There’s a ceremony today celebrating the long awaited completion of the final section of Interstate 49 in northwest Louisiana. The final stretch of roadway connects Texarkana, Arkansas to Shreveport.
