The LSU Police Department has charged 10 students in connection to the death fraternity pledge of Maxwell Gruver. All ten are facing a misdemeanor hazing charge and Matthew Alexander Naquin is also charged with negligent homicide. Police reports indicated that Gruver died after a night of playing the drinking game “Bible Study” in which pledges are forced to drink if they answer questions about the fraternity incorrectly.

As a result of criminal justice reform measures passed in the last legislative session, 14-hundred inmates in Louisiana will be released early from prison in November.  Criminal Justice Reform Director for the Southern Poverty Law Center John Burkhart says no one convicted of sex crimes, manslaughter or murder will be released.  He says the new sentencing laws accelerate the release mechanism for inmates on good time parole…

The father for wounded East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Tullier says his son is making remarkable progress.  Tullier was seriously injured during a police ambush in Baton Rouge in July 2016.   Nick has been moved from a rehab facility in Houston to Galveston.  His motor skills are beginning to improve.  James says his son is now able to make some small but important movements…

High school students from across the state will be designing the new Louisiana Seafood logo.  The Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board has partnered with the Louisiana Department of Education to let students design the new logo.  Lt.
