The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Nate is expected to move across the northwestern Caribbean Sea today, move into the southern Gulf of Mexico tonight, then approach the northern Gulf Saturday evening in a hurry. David Zelinsky is with the NHC…:

That should happen in the early morning hours of Sunday. Some parts of south Louisiana are under hurricane or tropical storm watches.

Governor John Bel Edwards says the state is prepared, but people need to pay attention…:

He says the good news is that this system is expected to move fast and not linger over the Gulf long enough to become a monster storm.

The LSU Tigers are ranked as the nation’s fifth most-valuable college football program in a report out of Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus. The analysis, by Ryan Brewer, found that if the Tigers were for sale, they’d be worth about $911 million dollars…:

Some home football games have been moved tomorrow due to Tropical Storm Nate. Tulane and Nicholls State’s games will now kickoff at 11am, Southeastern 10am, and Southern’s Homecoming will now start at 1pm.
