House Majority Whip Steve Scalise is back at the Capitol working following a shooting that nearly ended his life. Jeff Palermo has more on the Metairie Congressman’s emotional return.

A couple accused of fatally stabbing an elderly woman in her Shreveport home have been arrested. Roy Narcisse and Kiana Williams were found in San Angelo, Texas early this morning, still in possession of the victim’s vehicle. Williams and Narcisse are awaiting extradition back to Caddo Parish.

 

A poll out of UNO finds 57-percent of registered Louisiana voters surveyed believe protesting players should be fined or fired, but there is a big difference of opinion among races. Researcher Tony Licciardi says most of the black responders oppose penalizing the protesting players.

The survey also found 49-percent approve of President Donald Trump’s job performance, while 45-percent disapprove.
State Police says a motorcyclist was killed after driving 123 miles per hour down LA 22 in Tangipahoa Parish. Senior Trooper Dustin Dwight says Andrew Alessi tried to pass a pickup truck on the shoulder when the crash occurred. He says this death was totally preventable.
