The state department of health has filed a law suit against several opioid manufacturers claiming they are responsible for the escalating opioid crisis. The suit alleges the drug companies fradulently marketed the risks and benefits of prescription opioids.

Louisiana has launched a statewide donation drive for Puerto Rico. Mike Steele, with the governor’s office of homeland security and emergency preparedness, says the state is seeking to collect diapers, non-persihable items, baby wipes, bottles and nipples and feminie care products. Steele says there’s a list of collection sites on the governor’s website…
