House Majority Whip Steve Scalise’s office says the Congressman from Metairie returns to the United States Capitol today. Scalise was shot in the hip on June 14th and underwent several surgeries and more than three months of rehabilition. Scalise will be featured on CBS’ 60 Minutes on Sunday night.

Authorities are trying to learn more about the suspect in the shooting death of a 10-year-old Lake Charles boy. 50-year-old Felton Thompson was paroled from Angola last year after serving 24-years of a 99-year sentence for armed robbery. Calcasieu Parish District Attorney John DeRosier says this could happen again, because of new legislation designed to reduce the state’s incarceration rate…
