A former Angola inmate has been charged in the murder of a 10-year-old and severely wounding his 17-year-old brother in Lake Charles. Michael Farrar has the story…

The man and woman wanted in the fatal stabbing of an 82-year-old Shreveport woman are in police custody. Roy Narcisse and Kiana Williams of Ville Platte were captured in San Angelo, Texas and are expected to be booked on second-degree murder charges when they return to Shreveport.

Cleco announces a new two year, 130-million dollar project to improve customer service and it will also help stimulate the economy. Spokesperson Jennifer Cahill says they are calling it the START program and it will create 221 jobs, as they will replace Cleco’s core technology of multiple systems with one primary system.

The state has started a donation drive to help Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico. Governor John Bel Edwards says Puerto Rican officials say the island is on the brink of a humanitarian crisis, if help does not arrive. Mike Steele, with the governor’s office of homeland security and emergency preparedness, says residents are encouraged to donate these items
