There will not be a vote in the U.S. Senate on Bill Cassidy’s legislation that seeks to replace and repeal Obamacare. Democrats opposed the bill and at least three Republican Senators also did not support the measure. Cassidy proposed block grant funding to the states and let them decide how the health care dollars should be spent.

Hurricane Harvey hit Texas a month ago which knocked out about 30% of the nation’s refining capacity, but things are slowly recovering. Michelle Southern reports…:

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office says a man has been arrested for allegedly running over and killing his brother with his vehicle. Spokeswoman Casey Hicks says deputies received a call at around 3:40 this morning

32-year-old Kirk Hebert was pronounced dead at the scene, while his 30-year-old brother, Stephen Hebert was found in the driver’s seat in a semi conscious state. Stephen Hebert was charged with DWI and negiligent homicide.

An Arcadia Councilwoman faces up to 10 years in prison after she was convicted for stealing water bill payments when she served as the town’s clerk. Louisiana Inspector General Stephen Street says Patricia Hampton used the public’s money for her own personal use…
