A Louisiana lawmaker does not agree with fellow House member Kenny Havard’s suggestion that the state should stop providing the Saints with tax dollars since players did not stand during the national anthem Sunday. Baton Rouge Representative Ted James says Havard must have forgotten that legislators take an oath to uphold the constitution…:

James hopes Havard is only seeking attention because he feels it’s obvious the protesting athletes are not disrespecting our military.

Congressman Clay Higgins says it’s sickening to watch NFL players refuse to stand during the national anthem…:

Higgins says these athletes have the right to disrespect the national anthem and he has the right to turn off the TV.

There’s yet another reality show with northeast Louisiana ties that is quickly becoming the latest TV craze. Jeff Palermo reports…:

LSU announces that its opening game next season against Miami, originally scheduled for Saturday September 1st, will now be played the following Sunday on ABC as part of ESPN’s five-day college football kickoff weekend showcase. The contest will be played in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas; and will be the third year in a row that the network has aired a prime-time game on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
