Ten Saints players sat on the bench during the national anthem prior to the team’s win over Carolina, now a state lawmaker says it’s time for Louisiana to stop giving the professional franchise taxpayer dollars. St. Francisville Representative Kenny Havard says these players have a right to protest, but they should not do it during the anthem….

Dozens of NFL players didn’t stand during the anthem following comments made by President Donald Trump at a rally in Alabama. Mr. Trump said the NFL should fire players who sit or knee during the anthem. Saints QB Drew Brees disagrees with the President….

But Brees wishes the protests for social inequality didn’t involve sitting during the anthem.

A 10-year-old was killed and a teenager was injured in a shooting that happened last night in Lake Charles. Deputy Chief Mark Kraus says this is not a case where two children were playing with a gun and it accidentally discharged. He says someone shot these kids….

The 10-year-old child that died is Jaylyn Citizen and the 17-year-old is in stable condition, after undergoing surgery.

On the US House floor, US Representative Ralph Abraham praised six Winnfield high school football players who served as a pallbeares for a World War II veteran, who did not have any living family members. Abraham says the students actions speak volumes….

The veteran who died is 93-year-old Thomas Hunter.
