A Louisiana lawmaker would like the state to stop giving the Saints public dollars after several players didn’t stand during the national anthem yesterday. St. Francisville Rep. Kenny Havard says Louisiana has made dramatic cuts to departments across the board and now is the perfect time to redistribute money given to a sports franchise that is not grateful.

A 32-year-old Hahnville man faces several charges, including vehicular homicide, after he was allegedly driving impaired in a rollover wreck that killed a seven-year-old girl in St. Charles Parish. State Trooper Melissa Matey says this is a very tragic crash….

Six Winnfield Senior High School students were recognized on the House floor by Congressman Ralph Abraham after serving as pallbearers for a World War II veteran. 93-year-old Thomas Hunter had no close family so the football players stepped up after learning about the situation.
