Cleco is preparing for Tropical Storm Harvey’s arrival in Louisiana as five of the energy company’s operation regions are in the path of the storm. State Police is investigating the shooting of a Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s deputy. The suspect in the case was fatally shot. Authorities say a deputy was shot while conducting a traffic stop near Simsboro High School. His bullet proof vest deflected the bullet. L-S-P says the deputy returned fire, killing the suspect.
