Opelousas Police say a man has been arrested in connection to the attack of an elderly man over a road rage incident. 38-year-old Joshua Babineaux, of Opelousas, allegedly beat the 78-year-old with his own cane when the victim posed no threat…:

That’s Opelousas Chief Donald Thompson who says the man suffered a broken arm in the incident. Babineaux is charged with aggravated second degree battery and simple battery of the infirm.

Southern Lab High School will have to vacate its 2016 and 2015 state championship football titles, plus its runner-up trophy in 2014 after it was learned the Baton Rouge school violated the LHSAA’s recruiting rules. The school has been banned from postseason play for the next two years and their head coach, former LSU quarterback Marcus Randall, has been fired and suspended by the LHSAA for one year.
