A Harvard Medical School and Univeristy of California study find one in five employees in America feel like they face a threatening work environment. Univeristy of New Orleans Business Professor Mark Rosa says there is not much legal recourse for individuals in jobs that require heavy lifting but this is a surprising statistic for sexual harassment and bullying given the increase in awareness over these issues.

The Humane Society of Louisiana is searching for the individual who shot and killed a three-legged family dog in Acadia Parish. Director Jeff Dorson says Jack, a Schnauzer mix, belonged to the Lejeune family, was raced to the vet but was unable to be saved. He says they sheriff’s office will conduct an investigation.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people in connection to the murder of Dustin Hammons of Houston who was found in a field in Starks on August 2nd. Sheriff Tony Mancuso says 22-year-old Ashlyn Brown and 45-year-old Boyd Hagood, both from Baytown, Texas, were arrested. He says this is part of a bigger investigation involving additional suspects police are dealing with in Texas.
