The Saints held training camp at Yulman Stadium on Tulane’s campus Sunday where the team practiced under the lights in front of a several thousand fans. Coach Sean Payton says everyone enjoys practices like this..:

Sunday also marked the return of long snapper Justin Drescher to the practice field with New Orleans.

Former New Orleans Saints kicker Morten Andersen became only the third Black and Gold player to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and earn the institution’s gold jacket. In his years with the Saints, Andersen was named to six Pro Bowls, kicked 302 field goals, and scored 1318 points.

Former LSU stand-out Jalen Collins, a cornerback for the Falcons, has been suspended for 10 games for violating the NFL’s police on PEDs. Collins missed the first four games last season while under suspension for the same reason. Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said in a statement he is extremely disappointed in Collins and decisions going forward will be based on what team leaders feel is best for the team.

Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, a soon-to-be-senior at Lafayette High School, became the youngest athlete to reach the men’s pole vault final at the world championships Sunday in London. The 17-year-old was one of 8 competitors to clear 18 feet, 8 and a quarter inches in the qualification round. Duplantis now has the opportunity to participate in the 12-man final tomorrow.

Former Chicago Bear Jay Cutler has decided to hold off on retiring for a bit as sources indicate the quarterback agreed to terms Sunday with the Dolphins who are looking for a Ryan Tannehill replacement. Cutler’s deal is reportedly worth $10 million dollars for one year.
