Claiborne Parish authorities say a prisoner abducted and fatally stabbed the assistant wardens stepdaughter after walking away from a work assignment on Thursday. Sheriff Ken Bailey says the inmate’s life eventually ended during a standoff on prison property….

The prisoner, 39-year-old Deltra Henderson, was serving time for different offenses including aggravated burglarly. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Amanda Carney.

Community leaders in Monroe are hoping to clean up the streets with a Gun Buy-Back Rally at Charles Johnson Park tomorrow. Rally coordinator Pastor Vance Price says all attendees have to do is speak with one of the police officers at the rally, and they’ll start the process…:

SWEPCO is making plans to wind energy to its customers in northwest Louisiana. Company spokesperson Scott McCloud says SWEPCO will own 14-hundred megawatts from a wind farm currently under construction in Oklahoma…:
