The driver of the truck, 32-year-old Jeremy Abraham of Breaux Bridge, is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, one count of first degree vehicular injury, reckless operation, and other charges.

A new Glascock Group survey of voters in the 6th Congressional District shows Republican candidate Garret Graves moving into the second spot. The poll shows Graves the leading Republican with 22-percent, trailing Democrat Edwin Edwards with 34-percent. Pollster Darrell Glascock says it appears momentum is on Graves’ side…

Fellow Republican candidate Paul Dietzel narrowly trails Graves in the poll with 19-percent.

Two men have been arrested on drug and weapons charges after Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies found heroin, cocaine, marijuana, and handguns in a Gonzales home. 23-year-old Jeffery Ricard, Jr. of Gonzales and 20-year-old Quanmaine Scott of Convent were booked on several charges including illegal carrying of weapons and heroine and cocaine distribution. Authorities say Ricard’s Gonzales home had been under surveillance for two months.

It looks like the coldest weather, so far, this fall will hit Louisiana this weekend. Scott Carwile reports…
