It’s hard to believe it’s already been one year since that tragic day. On July 17th, 2016, a gunman ambushed police officers in Baton Rouge and killed Deputy Brad Garafola, Officers Matthew Gerald and Montrell Jackson, and injured three others including Deputy Nick Tullier who is still hospitalized. Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie says throughout this catastrophic event, the community has come together in unimaginable ways to support BRPD. He says the department has been working extremely hard to improve relations with the public…:

The shooting happened less than a mile from the Baton Rouge Police Headquarters.

A man has been arrested for attempted second degree murder after another man was found in the bathroom of LSU Digital Media Center with symptoms of a heroin overdose. Police have in custody 33-year-old Joshua Brian of Greenwell Springs who they believe gave the man the heroin.

Participation in the state’s flood recovery survey is lagging, and state officials are hoping upping their efforts will get more flood victims to apply for federal aid…:
