Scalise was moved out of the ICU Wednesday, according to MedStar Washington hospital, and underwent surgery yesterday for the infection.
About 40 cyclists will ride through south Louisiana today into Baton Rouge in honor of fallen law enforcement officers. The trip from Dallas to the Capitol City comes ahead of the one year anniversary of the ambush attack on Baton Rouge police. Texas Brotherhood Ride president Tim Dunn says made stops in Louisiana including Maryville and Eunice, before concluding at BRPD headquarters at 4 today:

Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand says a 14-year-old girl is dead after apparently accidentally being shot in the head by her brother. They say the victim is identified as Jasmine Anderson. The 15-year-old brother said he bought the gun for street protection. He’s been booked on a warrant for negligent homicide and juvenile with a firearm.
