The Saints will face the Carolina Panthers tomorrow night. Last Sunday, New Orleans defense had to deal with Aaron Rogers, tomorrow night it’s Cam Newton. Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan says Newton is exciting to watch, but they need to get him on the ground…

LSU is the first school in the country to use a special mouthguard that monitors the impact of hits to a player’s head. Jesse Harper, president of I-One Biometrics says the mouthguard has tiny electronic pieces inside and it provides information to the trainers on the sidelines, so they can monitor for possible concussion activity….

ULM is at Texas A-and-M this Saturday. The Aggies have lost three in a row and they are considering a change at quarterback. But despite all of that, A-and-M leads the SEC in total offense and passing offense. Warhawks Head Coach Todd Berry says he’s impressed with the Aggies offensive line….

Great start of the NBA season for the Pelicans. They beat Orlando 101-84 last night. Big game for Anthony Davis, 26 points, 17 rebounds and nine blocks, which ties a team record that Davis set last season.

And according to a poll of the Southland coaches….the Northwestern State men’s basketball team has been picked to finish second behind preseason favorite Stephen F Austin. McNeese State has been picked to finish fifth, S-L-U seventh, Nicholls 8th and UNO ninth.
