Students at seven out of Louisiana’s nine public colleges will see increased fees this school year. UL System president Jim Henderson says the hikes range from $98 to $212, but Louisiana still ranks dead last for student resources among southern states.

Grambling State and UNO were the only two universities not to raise fees.

A brutal robbery left one New Orleans tourist in critical condition. NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison says the two victims are from Boston, and they were in town visiting when the incident occurred on Saturday night.

Footage of the incident has gone viral on social media, as police are actively seeking the four suspects involved.

The USDA awards the LSU AgCenter nearly a million dollars for honeybee research. Entomologist Kristen Healy says bees are moved around the country for pollination services, and they plan to study the effects of the migration on the bees.

Healy says they’ll also look at the impact mites and diseases have on honeybees.

LSU fans are racing to Omaha for the start of the College World Series finals between LSU and Florida State. Jacques Berry decided shortly after the Tigers’ victory over Oregon State that he wanted to see the CWS matchup in person.
