9 public colleges in Louisiana will implement a nearly 3% increase in student fees beginning in the fall. UL-System president Dr. Jim Henderson says that’s the lowest increase in a decade. He says compared to other states in the region, Louisiana ranks 7th for tuition and fees per student, but 15th in state support…:

Governor John Bel Edwards sent a letter to US Senators Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy urging them to oppose the Better Care Reconciliation Act, which is the Senate GOP health care plan. In the letter the governor makes points he believes means the bill would result in the loss of coverage for millions of Americans, punishes Louisiana for running a lean Medicaid program, and effectively eliminating the state’s Medicaid expansion.
