The College World Series Finals take place tonight starting at 6 and it’s all SEC as LSU battles Florida to begin a best of three. Right-hander Russell Reynolds will take the ball for the Tigers. LSU Shortstop Kramer Robertson says this feels like an SEC weekend, just with more at stake…:
Cut 18 (10) “gets the job done”
Jared Poche will start tomorrow and he says there isn’t much you have to guess at this point in the season…:
Cut 17 (10) “behind you”
This is the 6th appearance for LSU in the CWS finals, and The Tigers have won all six times…the last being in 2009.

LSU has landed a couple of other nice commitments for the 2018 class. Alabama’s Tae Provens is ranked as a Top 50 athlete on 247Sports. Coach Orgeron has also landed Florida tight end Zach Sheffer. Sheffer is ranked by the 247Composite as the No. 26 tight end prospect in the country. LSU’s 2018 class now sits at 21 commitments and ranks No. 1 in the SEC and No. 3 nationally.

Tyrann Mathieu was back in his hometown Sunday, hosting his camp at the Saints training facility. It’s the second year of the camp for the former St. Augustine and LSU standout now entering his fifth NFL season with the Arizona Cardinals. Mathieu said he plans on making the camp a yearly occurrence as a way to give back to New Orleans.

LSU Quarterback Danny Etling showed up at the Manning Passing Academy at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, which was held from Thursday through Sunday. Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson was also there coaching campers at MPA.
