According to the American Automobile Association, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Louisiana is the lowest it’s been in four years. The price here has fallen to $2.88 per gallon. AAA fuel analyst Don Redman says this is a surprising turn of events considering some international market tensions…:

He also says there’s a good crude oil inventory right now which is also keeping gasoline prices low.

State Police say a 45-year-old woman is dead after a crash in Madison Parish yesterday afternoon. They say Karen Soares of Delhi veered off Highway 557 and rolled several times before coming to rest in a field. The woman was not wearing her seat-belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Sasol has been given the final OK to go ahead with it’s massive petrochemical project in Calcasieu Parish near their existing site in Westlake. Governor Bobby Jindal says they estimate the project will create an additional 5,000 construction jobs and nearly 2,400 indirect jobs. He says this is proof Louisiana is open for business…:

He says this investment could turn into a $22 billion dollar venture if a proposed gas-to-liquids plant is also built.
