Last season, a rash of injuries kept the Pelicans from competing for a playoff spot.

The Southeastern Conference fined LSU $5,000 after fans rushed the field after Saturday’s 10-7 win over then third ranked Ole Miss. The conference ban on fans entering the playing field went into effect in 2004 and this was LSU’s first violation. This last time LSU fans stormed the field was in 2001 when the Tigers defeated Auburn and secured a trip to the SEC Championship Game.

Louisiana Tech is 4-and-0 in Conference USA heading into Saturday’s homecoming match-up against Western Kentucky. Safety Kentrell Brice says the team is exicted they are undefeated in league action, but there’s more work to do…

The Bulldogs are doing an excellent job forcing turnovers as they’s produced 20 of them so far this season.

LSU linebacker Kendall Beckwith has been named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Beckwith led the Tigers with 10 tackles in their win over Ole Miss. He also had one tackle for a loss, one pass breakup, and one quarterback hurry. LSU Running back Leonard Fournette was also named the SEC Freshman Player of the Week after earning his third 100-yard rushing game of the season against the Rebels.
