Governor John Bel Edwards has issued a statement in response to House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana being shot in Alexandria, Virginia early this morning. Edwards says it appears to be an outrageous, cowardly attack on one of our own. Many Congressmen were reportedly also hurt in the mass shooting. President Donald Trump tweeted Scalise was badly injured, but will fully recover. We’re told the shooter is in custody.
The House Appropriations Committee has approved a 28-billion dollar budget plan that now leaves $100 million on the table, as opposed to $206 million. But Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne says the responsible way to deal with the budget is to appropriate the dollars that are available…:
