House Appropriations begins discussing the budget, and once again it’s the committee’s plan to hold back $206 million dollars in spending to avoid a midyear shortfall. But Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne says if money isn’t appropriated, it won’t be available during the course of the year in the event of a shortfall…:

The Shreveport Police Department is looking for the person or persons responsible for shooting and injuring a man while he was driving in his car on I-20. They say 23-year-old Perdarius Marhsall reports his car was struck by multiple rounds fired for another vehicle along the roadway. Marshall is in serious condition, and cops are working to identify a suspect.
