The Department of Health and Hospitals is monitoring a New Orleans-area man for signs of the Ebola virus. State Health Officer, Dr. Jimmy Guidry, says the Centers for Disease Control informed them about a man who had recently traveled to one of the Ebola-infected countries.

Five people have been arrested in Baton Rouge during a big drug bust Wednesday night involving high grade marijuana and other drugs. BRPD reported the BRAVE team made the bust at a motel, where investigators said they seized 12.4 pounds of “purple” marijuana worth thousands of dollars per pound.
