LSU’s Coach O is helping spread the word about how to get flood recover aid in a new PSA. The governor’s spokesperson Richard Carbo hopes the radio ads will encourage more flood victims to complete the survey at restore.la.gov.

A 7-year-old in Lake Charles is recovering after being accidentally shot at Moss Bluff Elementary school this morning. Kim Myers with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office says the child is being treated at a local hospital.

The child is reportedly in stable condition after a child brought a gun to school and it went off accidentally.

A Swartz homeowner fatally shot an intruder over the weekend. Glen Springfield with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a report of an intruder around 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Springfield says the suspect died at the scene, and no charges have been filed against the homeowners.
