The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals announced today that the state plans to stop billing sexual assault victims for exams and tests. DHH says they intend to streamline the funding source through the Crime Victim’s Reparation Board and through legislation the changes will prevent direct billing of charges to the victim by billing the Crime Victim’s Reparation Board directly.

Folks are buzzing about Former President Bill Clinton’s stop in Louisiana today to support US Senator Mary Landrieu in her bid to keep her spot in Congress. Political analyst Clancy Dubos says this is coming at a good time for the incumbent as early voting begins tomorrow and the fact that Clinton is so popular among Democrats:
