Property owners in Louisiana are stepping up to help flood victims struggling to recover from the March and August floods. Governor John Bel Edwards says renters make up 35-percent of the state’s population, and one in four flood victims are renters. He says federal dollars will be available to help these people get back into rental properties…:

He says the homelessness population in Louisiana doubled after the floods, and this program seeks to use available resources to get that rate back down.

A state audit has not been able to determine what happened to 22-thousand dollars that were supposed to be used so students at West Ridge Middle in West Monroe could go to Disney World. Ouachita Parish Superintendent Doctor Don Coker….

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.

The suspects in this morning’s shooting in Breaux Bridge have been identified by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office. Spokeswoman Ginny Higgins says 26 year old Joseph Broussard of Morse and 31-year-old Drewe Christopher Schexnider of Kaplan allegedly tried to rob a homeowner at 3am, but ended up being shot by the resident. She says the men were also wanted…:
