Johnny Jones is no longer the head coach of the LSU men’s basketball team. Athletic Director Joe Alleva made the announcement this morning.:

Jones, who was a member of LSU’s Final Four team in 1981, tweeted that it’s been an honor to serve the LSU community for 22 years, and thanked his players, family, coaches and fans.

The Louisiana State Troopers Association is reportedly the subject of a federal investigation alleging the nonprofit made illegal campaign contributions. That’s according to Tom Aswell, publisher of the political blog Louisiana Voice who broke the first story on the investigation. He reports the association’s board funneled the money through its executive director David Young…:

State Police has said that the association is separate from the department.
A man who was on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top 10 most wanted list has been captured in Jefferson Parish, according to authorities. Michael Craig Gervais was wanted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office on one count of Rape of a Child and three counts of Attempted Child Neglect. Officials say Gervais is being held without bond on a Fugitive from Justice warrant in Louisiana, and awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
