A special session that’s been called to close a 304-million dollar budget deficit begins tonight at the State Capitol. Governor John Bel Edwards is recommending legislators use 119-million dollars from the rainy day fund to help close the gap, but some republican lawmakers propose more cuts. ULM political science professor Doctor Joshua Stockley says the governor has a good chance at winning this battle…

Quarterback Brandon Harris has announced he’s transferring from LSU. Harris announced his decision on twitter and said he decided to leave LSU after consulting with his family and head coach Ed Orgeron. Harris lost his job as starting quarterback in September after a rough start to the season. The former Parkway star says he’s been given his full release, so he can transfer to any school.
