The state Fire Marshal’s Office has determined an unattended stove started the fire at a Baton Rouge apartment complex that took the life of a 5-year-old girl. Deputy Chief Brant Thompson says several other people in the complex were injured as well.

The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office arrests a couple after their children tested positive for cocaine and marijuana. Spokesperson Mark Natale says 35-year-old Shannon Blake and 30-year-old Victoria Blake have been charged with five counts of cruelty to a juvenile.
