Broome says she’s taking the first steps to find a replacement for Dabadie when she takes office. Broome says she wil search far and wide to find a new chief of police.

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture says a barn at the New Orleans Fair Grounds Racetrack is under quarantine for a case of Equine Herpesvirus. Ag Commissioner Mike He says this virus is highly contagious and there is no vaccine to prevent it.
