Thousands of people are waiting inside a hangar at the Baton Rouge Airport where President elect Donald Trump is set to speak at a get out the vote rally for Republican US Senate candidate John Kennedy. Governor John Bel Edwards, who supports Democrat Foster Campbell, in the race is there to meet with Mr. Trump before he speaks. The two are likely to talk about flood recovery assistance.

Secretary of State Tom Schedler predicts a voter turnout just below 30 percent for Saturday’s election. Schedler says there’s just one item on the ballot in many parishes, so that’s where turnout is expected to be the lowest, but there could be a decent vote tally in some areas, like East Baton Rouge, which has the mayor-president race…

New audio has been released of a conversation between Capt. Clay Higgins and his ex-wife in which the 3rd Congressional District candidate suggested winning the election would help him pay child support. UL-Lafayette political science professor Pearson Cross says it’s clear Higgins didn’t know the phone conversation was recorded, so hard to say how this impacts the election.
