Fox Sports Bruce Feldman is reporting that LSU will make defensive coordinator Dave Aranda the highest paid assistant coach in the country. Several media outlets reported yesterday that Aranda agreed to a new three-year contract. The Tigers finished the regular season seventh in scoring defense.

So what bowl game will LSU end up at? They’ll find out Sunday and the SEC will help determine their destination. Jerry Palm of CBS sports dot com believes the Tigers will end up at one of the bowls in Florida and they are an attractive choice for the bowls, because many fans are excited about the hiring of Ed Orgeron as head coach…

Orgeron appeared on ESPN’s Mike and Mike this morning and said he plans to bring an explosive offense and championship program to LSU.

ESPN’s Mike Triplett reports that Saints receiver Brandin Cooks is becoming frustrated with his role in the offense. Cooks did not catch a pass against the Rams last Sunday as he was used to pull coverage away from fellow receivers. Cooks is still on pact to have over one-thousand receiving yards this season.

UL Lafayette receiver Gabe Fuselier has left the Cajuns football program with just one game left in the regular season. Fuselier has caught just eight passes this year after hauling in 37 passes last year. UL Lafayette is at ULM this Saturday. The Warhawks haven’t beaten in their in-state rival since 2013 and have lost seven of their last eight.

In college basketball tonight. The 4-and-2 LSU Tigers host a 5-and-0 Houston Cougars team. Tip-off is at 8 PM.

Also tonight, McNeese State is at Texas State and in the NBA…the Pelicans host the Lakers.
