LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva sent out a letter describing what qualities he’s looking for in a new head football coach. Governor John Bel Edwards delayed an 18-million dollar cut to public universities as part of his plan to resolve Louisiana’s 313 million dollar budget shortfall. Prairieville Representative Tony Bacala spoke at a budget meeting and says he doesn’t understand why higher ed is taking most of the cuts while the Department of Health isn’t taking any.

The Public Service Commission has approved Entergy’s request to build a new plant in St. Charles Parish. Entergy Spokesperson Michael Burns says the power from this plant could meet the city of New Orleans’ needs on the hottest day of the year. He says Entergy customers can expect slightly higher bills…

The plant is estimated to cost 869 million dollars and will be up and running by 2019.
A Rapides Parish judge has denied bail for the former Monroe TV personality, Mr. Wonder due to the severity of his crimes. Frank Selas III fled the state after allegedly sexually assaulting multiple children nearly 40 years ago. The 77-year-old was caught in Califorina in January and extradited back to Louisiana. Selas has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated rape and sexual battery among other charges and he’s pleaded not guilty to all.
