The Restore Louisiana Task Force passed a resolution unanimously recommending low income and the disabled be the first to receive the first round of the state’s 438 million dollars of disaster assistance. The task force suggests sending their flood assistance plan to the Department of Housing and Urban Development and HUD could issue spending requirements by as early as next week.

Entergy’s request to construct a new 869 million dollar plant in St. Charles Parish has been approved by the Pulbic Service Commission. Entergy Spokesperson Michael Burns says the plant will be modern and highly efficient and will save customers billions.

The Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights begins today across north Louisiana. Executive Director of the Webster Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau, Lynn Doresy, says multiple festivals are held in Alexandria-Pineville, Monroe-West Monroe, Shreveport-Bossier, Minden and Natchitoches.
