LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva has sent a letter to Tiger fans outlining the qualities he’s looking for in a new football coach. Jeff Palermo reports.

The Restore Louisiana Task Force has unanimously passed a plan to allocate the $438 million in federal funds the state has received for flood recovery. The resolution recommends offering three types of assistance for homeowners- state managed construction, homeowner managed construction, and reimbursement for completed repairs.

Governor John Bel Edwards has delayed an $18 million cut to public colleges, which is part of his plan to eliminate a $313 million budget deficit. Prairieville Representative Tony Bacala says he doesn’t understand why higher education is taking the brunt of the cuts, when the Louisiana Department of Health hasn’t taken any.

Cut 13 (12) “shared burden”
Bacala adds that in the past four years, the higher ed budget has increased by $200 million, but LDH’s budget has seen a $1.4 billion hike.

The Public Service Commission has approved Entergy’s request to build a new plant in St. Charles Parish. Entergy spokesperson Michael Burns says Entergy customers can expect slightly higher bills.
