Governor John Bel Edwards has delayed an 18-million dollar cut to public colleges as part of his plan to eliminate a $313 million budget deficit. Monroe Representative Katrina Jackson asks for another month to see if there’s a way they can cut the budget, without impacting universities..:

The Revenue Estimating Conference meets again December, and there’s a chance the state’s budget shortfall could increase by then.

The Public Service Commission has approved Entergy’s request to build a new 869 million dollar plant in St. Charles Parish. Entergy Spokesperson Michael Burns says the facility it will be a modern, highly efficient plant…:

The plant is scheduled to be up and running by June of 2019.

LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva has sent a letter to Tiger fans outlining the qualities he’s looking for when hiring a new head football coach. He said the guidelines include integrity, work ethic, relentless recruiter and accomplished leader. Tiger Rag Associate Editor James Moran says one of the items in Alleva’s letter stuck out…:

He said this isn’t necessarily a groundbreaking letter but it could mean Alleva just wanted to put something on paper to hopefully dampen rumors.

State Officials say 8,000 homes have been repaired through the Shelter at Home Program. In a statement, leaders say they are working extremely hard to get families affected by the August flooding back to their homes in time for the holidays. They say another 1,900 homes are under construction through the program.
