State Police say a 21-year-old man from Tickfaw died in a three vehicle crash as he attempted to flee Hammond Police trying to initiate a traffic stop. They say as Darious Ashton was trying to escape, he ran a stop sign and was hit by a car and a dump truck back to back. He was not restrained and later died at a hospital. The driver of the dump truck was not injured and the other motorist sustained minor injuries.
